As a credit attorney, I see people with items on their credit bureau reports that should have been removed years ago. They were declined credit because it was affecting their FICO score and that is the only thing most creditors use to base their credit decisions. Did you know that there was a timeline in which negative items can show up on your credit report? It is the reporting credit bureau's obligation to you, the consumer to show accurate information. Based on the Freedom of Information Exchange Act, if they [Credit Bureaus] don't report accurately they must remove the information from your report. The burden also lies on the reporting agency to validate the report for its accuracy.


How I got my FICO score from 515 to 720 and not spending a lot to do it.

This is the story of how I took my FICO score from a horrible 515 to an almost stellar 775 in a little over a year. A lot of work was done and it wasn't easy but I stayed on top of things and my credit score approved tremendiously. I first started off by getting my credit report and finding out just why my credit was bad to begin with. After I reviewed my credit report a good friend of mine told me about Lexington Law Firm. They are a credit law firm that helps remove negative items from your credit report. While they were doing their work, I went to do mine. I then got a $500 secured credit card through Orchard Bank. From there, I decided to piggy-back someone else's credit. Lucky for me I had some friends that had good established credit and were willing to add me to their accounts.
